Ilaiyaraaja teams up with Kaaka Muttai director

Maestro Ilaiyaraaja will compose the background score for the next project of Manikandan of Kaaka Muttai-fame. The film is a crime thriller titled Kutrame Dhandanai which was earlier titled Kutramum Dhandanayum. 

 

According to sources, the film doesn’t have any songs, yet the director approached Ilaiyaraaja, which means that the background score is important to the film. 

 

One hears that the director decided not to have any songs in the movie based on the suggestion he received from audiences, who felt that songs broke the narrative in recent Tamil films. Currently the movie, which has Viddharth, Pooja Devariya and Aishwarya Rajesh, is in post-production. 

 

Sources say that Ilaiyaraaja was impressed with the film and will start work on the background score as soon as he’s done with projects on hand. After Kuttrame Thandanai, Manikandan is likely to work on a comedy film with Vijay Sethupathi in the lead, but this has not been confirmed yet.
