Shruti and Vijay croon a peppy song

Of late, actor Vijay has made it routine to sing in his own flicks. When Google Google and Selfie Pulla rendered in his voice became chartbusters, it was natural for Devi Sri Prasad, the music composer for Vijay’s upcoming movie Puli, to rope him in for a peppy song.  Interestingly, Shruti Haasan who romances Vijay in Puli has rendered the female voice segment for the song.  DSP recorded Vijay and Shruti’s voices separately and merged them to create a duet.

In the black-and-white era of Tamil cinema, lead actors would act and sing in their own voices. Perhaps, this is the first time in the recent history of K’town that the lead pair has acted and lent their own vocals to a song sequence!
