Hyderabad: A principal was arrested for molesting a Class VI student at Nalgonda. Police said he had been troubling the girl, 13, since three days. He called the girl to school every day morning for private classes and used to harass her, police said.

Police said that the victim was studying in Class VI at the Gowtami High School.

The principal, Chinnam Ganesh, 35, told the girl to come for extra study every morning. “On Thursday when the girl came at 7.30 am, he suddenly held her tightly and kissed her,” said Motkur SI Mallishwari.

Shocked at this, the girl ran home crying and told the incident to her parents. The angry parents and neighbours rushed to the school and beat up the principal. Later, they handed him over to the police.

Police registered a case under Nirbhaya Act and produced the accused before court.
