Hyderabad: After many requests from the Telangana government, SCR on Thursday announced that Trains No. 12723 / 12724 AP Express between Hyderabad and New Delhi will be called Telangana Express from November 15.

However, there is already a Telangana Express, Train No. 17035 / 17036, that runs between Hyderabad and Sirpur-Kagaznagar.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who had asked for AP Express to be renamed, has demanded that the Sripur -Kagaznagar train be renamed after freedom fighter Komaram Bheem. But trains are not normally named after personalities. A train between the national capital to each of the state capitals is named after the state.
