Rajahmundry: YSR Congress fumes at the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s plan to govern the state from city. YSRC senior leader and deputy floor leader in Assembly Jyothula Nehru said, “There is no governance at all in the entire state for the last few months. Naidu is losing mental balance day-by-day. He can supervise the conduct of Godavari Maha Pushkaralu while sitting in Hyderabad and he should deploy efficie-nt and capable officers to conduct the event. The of-ficers in the administration are meant for that and CM being the head of the government should monitor the things.”
“I wonder Naidu is bec-oming crazy of publicity. He is stepping into the shoes of everyone be it minister or collector or even a police constable and is not allowing them to function. There is no need for Naidu to sit in Police Control Room and monitor the developme-nts. Police personnel can handle it. Naidu should own responsibility for the death of 27 devotees in stampede. As he inten-ds to get international fa-me for conduct of Pushk-aralu,he roped in an inte-rnational agency to document while he was performing rituals” he said.
This resulted in a large number of devotees waiting outside the ghat for over two hours to come in while those inside wanted to leave. This resulted in stampede and death." "If Naidu intends to hold cabinet meetings in the city by bringing all the cabinet ministers, the officials will be busy in observing protocol to them while police personnel will be busy providing security to them. Similarly, if a delegation from Singapore is invited to city, again the officials and security personnel will be busy. I fear that this may further result in more tragedies in the city as nobody will be there to take care of devotees. I wish Naidu should change his mind and concentrate on governance instead of publicity."
