Jangareddygudem: A woman conductor of RTC jumped out from the moving bus as she was slighted when the checking officials were writing a charge memo for issuing less tickets than the number of passengers travelling in the Godavari Pushkaralu special bus proceeding from Jangareddygudem to Pattisam village at Kannapuram Addaroad of Jangareddygudem mandal in West Godavari on Friday.
One P. Padmavathi, 35 issued the tickets to the passengers in the bus when it started at Jangareddygudem. The officials stopped the bus at Lakshmipuram of Buttaigudem mandal and started verifying the number of tickets issued and the number of passengers travelling in the bus and they found that the conductor issued less tickets.
She tried to defend herself by saying that she gave tickets to all the passengers and on some tickets, issued through TIM, there was no proper print of the details of fare and origin and destination of journey.
She pleaded with the officials not to write a case against her. However, when the officials were preparing a charge memo to be issued, the conductor felt slighted and jumped out of the moving bus and suffered severe head injury.
She was immediately shifted to local hospital and then to government hospital in Rajahmundry where she succumbed to her injuries. She was survived by husband and two daughters. Police booked a case and investigation is on.
