‘I want to do a film with Salman’
‘He was in my film Lai Bhaari but that was a special appearance’
Riteish Deshmukh’s next film Bangistan addresses the issue of terrorism in a humorous way. Is he worried that it may draw offence for handling a serious issue in a light-hearted way? “The idea is to see the humour in the subject. If we keeping thinking about who will get offended, we will end up making similar films. Anything can offend people these days. But you can’t restrict yourself to making fun of only actors, police, politicians and sportspersons because they’re public figures,” he said.
Known to be part of multiple multi-starers, Riteish says he’d love to share the screen with Salman Khan some day. “Salman is a dear friend and I want to do a film with him. He was in my film Lai Bhaari but that was a special appearance. Me wanting to work with him has nothing to do with his success record. I just want to share that energy onscreen. Maybe we should do a Marathi film together.”
Is Genelia planning a comeback soon, we ask him. “I hope she does soon. I enjoy watching her on the big screen. She has a certain charm and is very natural. I am a Genelia fan,” he says with a smile.
