Chennai: Four days after fathers of missing crew-members of the Coast Guard aircraft that crashed in Bay of Bengal in June 6 this year, gave their DNA sample at Chennai Rajiv Gandhi government general hospital, a court in Alandur asked mothers too give blood sample for DNA extraction on Monday.
Fathers of pilots Vidya Sagar and M. K. Soni and navigator Subhah gave DNA samples to match the DNA of human skeletons found from the crash site on Thursday. "If samples of both the parents are taken, the matching will be easy and conclusive," police said. The crashed remains of the Dornier aircraft was found on sea-bed 950 metre below the sea level off Karaikal coast after a five-week search. The Coast Guard had also handed over the mortal remains found in the sea-bed to Airport police, where they had registered a missing complaint two weeks ago.
The police had been now asked to collect the blood samples of mothers of the crew by the court.
