HyderabadThe TRS on Monday described the Congress as a “sinking ship from Delhi to galli.” It also asked party cadre to drive away “Andhra” TD from Telangana State for opposing Palamuru-Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation scheme and other projects. Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao while welcoming Congress leaders including former Mahbubnagar district Zilla Parishad vice-chairman Krishna and others into TRS said the government would issue land acquisition notification for Palamuru irrigation project in a week’s time and build it at any cost.

“The Congress is a sinking ship from Delhi to galli. You have seen leaders like D.K. Aruna who gave harathi when Seemandhra leaders took away Krishna waters for Pothireddypadu and other projects ignoring interests parched and migration prone Mahbubnagar district,” he remarked. Stating Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao gave top priority for development of Mahbubnagar unlike AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said Kodangal and other areas would benefit a lot from the project. “The Congress and TD constructed irrigation projects for the benefit of contractors and for commissions. Krishna River makes longest journey in Mahbubnagar, yet the district lacks water. We will see that people raise paddy,” he lamented.

Health minister Dr Laxma Reddy, industries minister Jupally Krishna Rao asked people to drive away “Andhra party” Telugu Desam headed by AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu from Mahbubnagar district and State for opposing Palamuru project.State Planning Board vice-chairman Niranjan Reddy went a step further saying Mr Naidu and his party should be buried for opposing Palamuru project. “We should wipe out Telugu Desam from Telangana soil,” he remarked.

Hitting out at the TD Kodangal MLA A. Revanth Reddy for his anti-Telangana stance, former Kodangal MLA Gurunadh Reddy said Revanth Reddy brought “fame” to Kodangal. “He brought fame to Kodangal and has become very popular like Nathuram Godse who killed Gandhi. Revanth Reddy went to jail and got a heroes welcome from Andhra leaders on release on bail. Everyone should be ashamed of his behaviour,” he fumed.
