Ms Jayalalithaa, who arrived at the secretariat in the afternoon, also enquired about the arrangements that are underway for the global investors meet scheduled in September and the companies that are to invest in Tamil Nadu. The ministers informed her that about a dozen companies are keen on investing in the state.
AIADMK party sources said that their supremo also advised her party MPs on the issues that have to be discussed and debated in Parliament. Party MPs met her briefly on the eve of the Monsoon Session due to begin in the capital on Tuesday.

The AIADMK leader, in a recent letter to Prime Minister Modi, had termed the recent amendments to the proposed land acquisition bill as anti-farmer. After discussions with the Lok Sabha deputy speaker Thambidurai and party MPs, the CM left the secretariat after 2 pm. Senior ministers O. Panneerselvam, Natham R. Viswanathan, R. Vaithilingam and P. Palaniappan were also present at her meeting with party MP’s.
