On Monday, the government and the main Opposition Congress set the stage for a stormy Monsoon Session of Parliament by confronting each other over the Vyapam scam and controversies involving former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi and his links with external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

Though the government held two all-party meetings on Monday, both ended in a deadlock with the Congress remaining steadfast on the point that it would not allow Parliament to function.
