Xiaomi celebrates 1st anniversary in India, announces 32GB Mi 4i for Rs 14,999

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is celebrating one year of its presence in India on July 22, 2015. The company has been teasing a few details about the anniversary celebration for a few days now and has also announced that they will be launching something today. 

According to the teasers on their Facebook and Twitter pages, Xiaomi has been releasing a few photo riddles. One needs to displace a few match sticks to create a figure and get the answer to what they may be announcing at the event. The first teaser hints that the device would sport 32GB internal storage, but the name of the device was not mentioned.

The second teaser was supposed to be solved and linked to the earlier one. The second teaser hints to the 4i, which is the Mi 4i, launched in India in April. The Xiaomi Mi 4i sports only a 16GB version, and does not have any expandable storage option. Though the smartphone is a great option for those seeking a mainstream smartphone on a low budget, the only issue is the internal storage space. One would need to use USB OTG storage for further expansion. Xiaomi did not mention any upcoming options for a Mi 4i with 32GB or 64GB versions, putting the only 16GB variant on sale.

The two anniversary teasers put together denote that the Chinese smartphone giant will be launching the 32GB variant of the Mi 4i today.
