HyderabadGreater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation commissioner and special officer Somesh Kumar said that of the 73.69 lakh voters in the corporation limits, Aadhaar data had been seeded in the ID cards of 25.79 lakh, or 36 per cent. The process would be completed by the month-end, he said.

He said 7,051 booth-level officers had completed 99.09 per cent of door-to-door visits. The officers had found 16 per cent of the houses locked, 28 per cent had shifted residences and 16.67 per cent did not have Aadhaar cards.

For voters without Aadhaar cards, the GHMC was making arrangements to provide them with one. Mr Kumar directed booth-level officers to return three times to houses that were locked, and where the residents had shifted out.

He instructed booth-level officers to work from morning to evening on all days, including holidays. He said sanitary field assistants, bill collectors and other employees should join the drive.

With regard to locked homes, the officers should obtain the phone numbers of residents from the neighbors and contact them. With regard to change of residence, notices have to be issued to the people who are staying in those houses.

According to the Election Commission directives, the Aadhaar seeding process would be reviewed at July 25. He directed officials to furnish the details of dead voters, locked houses, change of address cases to political parties at the earliest.
