World-class capital planned for Andhra Pradesh
State to study capital models of global cities, Naidu to take final call

Rajahmundry: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has decided to develop the upcoming state capital Amaravati to be world class with all the requisite infrastructure to make the Telugu people feel proud of it. The Cabinet led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu met here on Wednesday, the second time away from Hyderabad, to decide on various issues. Except for Deputy CM K.E Krishna Murthy who is undergoing medical treatment, all other ministers attended the meeting.
Briefing the media after the Cabinet meet, minister for information technology Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that based on the suggestion from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s to visit nations like Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan and other world class cities, to build the capital for AP, a team of officials would visit those places in the first phase to study the plans followed by the visit of the CM to finalise which plan to be adopted for building the state capital.
Accordingly, PM Narendra Modi would setthe foundation stone for construction of Seed Capital on about 3,000 acres land on October 22. The CRDA would serve as a regulatory authority while CCDMC will play the role of operational authority. He said that the state government had invited the governments of Singapore and Japan to take part in foundation laying ceremony and added that Amaravati would be built with all modern amenities and on the lines of Shanghai which is considered to be the industrial capital of the world.
Earlier, the cabinet condoled the tragic death of 27 devotees in the stampede at Pushkar ghat during the inauguration of Pushkaralu and observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
