Audio CD makes Karnataka Lokayukta scam murkier
Bhaskar claims in the CD that the accused had strong backing and even the CBI would help them
BENGALURU: An audio CD reportedly containing the conversation between V. Bhaskar, an accused in the Lokayukta extortion racket and an advocate has added another twist to the ongoing investigation. Bhaskar who is absconding, claims in the CD that the accused had strong backing and even the CBI would help them if the case is refered to the central agency.
He has alleged that Lokayukta SP Sonia Narang has got a few flats each worth more than Rs 2 crore through Hotte Krishna, another accused in the alleged scam.
“The SIT is just arresting people to show they are working. In fact, they (Ashwin Y and gang) have full protection from SIT. They are favourable to us. They are harassing the complainant Krishnamurthy instead of grilling the accused. Now, Krishnamurthy is fed up and he wants to back off from the case,” Bhaskar reportedly said in the CD.
“Lokayukta PRO Riyaz has invested in land in benami names with the help of Hotte Krishna. In fact, I was one who helped Riyaz get promoted as joint commissioner. A senior officer was threatened to give him the promotion or else his house will be raided,” Bhaskar said in the CD the authenticity of which is yet to be proved.
Reacting to this, SP Sonia Narang said: “All the details related to my property are with the government. Anybody can make allegations without any documents.”
