New Delhi: Unwilling to sack controversial ministers, Centre has decided to hit back by exposing scams in Congress-ruled states. If the BJP targeted the Uttarakhand CM on Wednesday, on Thursday it was Mr Virbhadra Singh, CM of Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh.

The BJP accused Mr Singh of “accepting a bribe” from a private firm to buy a farmhouse, a charge rejected by the Himachal CM. The charges raked up by the BJP on Thursday were first levelled against Mr Singh during the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections in 2012.

In Shimla, Singh said all the BJP allegations against him are and false”. “I have been hearing these allegations for the last two years, All the matters are in court. First, a CBI inquiry was held against me and the agency has given clean chit and said no criminality has been found. Now, again a second CBI inquiry is being instituted against me.”
