There’s been speculation for a long time about Salman Khan doing a film called Sultan for Yash Raj, directed by Abbas Zafar. We now hear that the actor has finally agreed to be part of the film. His role is that of a 40-year-old boxer and would need a lot of beefing up, which is why the actor was skeptical of doing the film initially.
Says a source, “Playing a boxer would need a lot of preparation. It would entail months of a strict exercise regime and a new diet plan. With his multiple commitments and pending court cases, Salman wasn’t sure if he would be able to keep up with the altered schedule, but he has now made up his mind to do the film.”
Interestingly Akshay Kumar’s role in Karan Malhotra’s Brothers is that of a pugilist as well, while Aamir Khan will be seen playing a wrestler in Dangal.
“Akshay already has a boxer’s physique and Aamir does only one film at a time. Salman on the other hand, had Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo on his plate, so it was a little difficult for him to agree right away,” adds the source.
