Elephant kills woman in Krishnagiri
Krishnagiri forest officials went to the place and recovered the body

Krishnagiri: A 40-year-old woman grazing sheep was trampled to death by a wild elephant in the reserve forest in Ganganapalli village in Denkanikottai taluk in Krishnagiri.
According to Forest department officials, G. Rajamma of Ganganapalli village who entered the reserved forest for grazing cattle failed to return home. She is the third victim of jumbo attack in the first seven months of the year.
Her relatives, who were searching for the woman, found her body in the forest, but her body could not be retrieved because of the movement of elephants.
The Krishnagiri forest officials went to the place and recovered the body after pushing the jumbo herd out. Later, the body was handed over to the Denkannikottai police for a probe into her death.
On May 16, 58-year-old Erappa of Aiyur village, died after a wild tusker which came in search of water trampled him to death.
In a similar incident on January 25, M. Giriappa, 65, of Gonguchettipalli village, died on the fringe of reserved forests due to jumbo attack.
