Khammam: Telangana Rashtra Samiti MP K. Kavita said on Friday that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi should take a holy dip in the Godavari during the Maha Pushkaralu to clear the Congress’ sins during its 10-year rule in the state.
She said the farmers were the worst hit during the Congress rule and they committed suicide because of its lackadaisical policies. She added that there was no use in conducting a bharosa (giving confidence) yatra for farmers in TS and AP without cleansing the party’s sins from its previous rule.
Ms Kavita, who took a holy dip at the Pushkar Ghat in Mothe of Burgumpahad mandal on Friday, said that the state government had made the Godavari Maha Pushkaralu a success.
“Crores of people are visiting various Pushkar ghats in TS and taking holy dips. Almost all the temples on the river bank witnessed scores of pilgrims,” she said, adding that pilgrims were expressing satisfaction with the arrangements .
She added that Saturday, the last day of the Pushkaralu, would see extra rush and told officials to ensure all facilities to the pilgrims. She visited Parnasala and Bhadrachalam temple and offered prayers.
