Bengaluru: Drunk techie attacks cop

Bengaluru: A drunken techie assaulted a police constable with his helmet after he was advised not to drink in public. The techie was consuming alcohol along with his friends on roadside in JP Nagar 4th Phase on Friday.

Following the incident, JP Nagar police arrested the accused, identified as Prashant, 34, a resident of Nagarbhavi and an employee of a reputed IT firm. Constable Srishaila was patrolling the area and noticed four men drinking liquor outside a bar.

He demanded that they should not be drinking on the road.  An argument broke out  and Prashant  attacked the constable with his helmet. The constable alerted the Hoysala beat police, who reached the spot and took Prashant into custody.
