“I, too, started off as a short filmmaker — though none of them have been screened, it served as a practise session to help me learn the nuances of filmmaking,” reveals Aishwarya Dhanush, who has started a dedicated YouTube channel, Ten Entertainment to promote short filmmakers. “This idea has been on my mind for few years, and I’m taking a break from direction and reviving that plan,” she says, adding, “I have seen many talented youngsters struggling to reach the masses and not getting due recognition — this will be a platform to promote them. We have also tagged it along with our Facebook pages for wider appeal.”

After catering to South Indian filmmakers, she says there are plans to extend it to other languages soon, “Even with word-of-mouth, we are getting plenty of entries. I have a team filtering the best ones and uploading them online. We are planning to select three short films every month.” Aishwarya also says that she’s currently taking care of production ventures for two Tamil which are in the wrap-up stage. “It is a big task in itself! As for direction, I have a story idea in my mind but I’ll take a few months to come up with a detailed script,” she says.
