Aishwarya Rajesh, who has been receiving appreciation for her portrayal of a deglamorized woman in Kaaka Muttai, says that her upcoming film Kutramum Thandanaiyum will be another feather in her cap.
Interestingly, this film too, which has her in an extended cameo, has Manikandan wielding the megaphone. According to the actress, her role in Kutramum Thandanaiyum (KT) was more gratifying than the national-award winning Kaaka Muttai (KM).
She says candidly, “I don’t have a full-fledged character to play in KT — however, those scenes featuring me will have an impact on the audience, and that is exactly why I gave a nod when Manikandan approached me. In fact, many popular actresses rejected the role before I got it, and I’m sure they will regret their decision.”
Aishwarya tells us that she will be seen in a completely different appearance in the movie — as a young, charming and modern girl, which is quite contrary to the one she donned in KM. The dusky beauty plays an intelligent corporate girl who copes with the present pretentious world.
She explains, “It’s a bold character with a negative shade, but something which everyone can relate to. Like Kaaka Muttai, Kutramum Thandanaiyum too is a content-driven flick, which has no fights and songs. After watching the former, I felt that I could have performed more while the latter has given me immense satisfaction. But yes, the critical and commercial success of Kaaka Muttai has boosted the expectations surrounding this film. I’m also excited about the fact that Ilaiyaraaja sir is scoring background music for Kutramum Thandanaiyum.”
