Panaji: The carcass of a crocodile was found at Goa's Miramar beach near here, barely 10 days after another crocodile was seen crawling on Morjim beach, officials said on Monday.

"We have recovered a dead crocodile from Miramar beach. It's carcass has been sent for post-mortem. We will be able to divulge exact cause of death and other details only after getting the report," Deputy Conservator of Forest DNF Carvalho told PTI.

He said the locals had informed the forest department about the crocodile's carcass.

Miramar is a city beach located near the capital city and is one of the most populated shoreline of the state.

An aquatic reptile had also been sighted at Morjim beach, 30 kms away from here on July 17. The forest department had said that the crocodile must have walked on Morjim beach from nearby Chapora river.
