Give an artist a blank canvas and he will turn it into a stunning work of art. That's exactly what Germen Crew, a group known for using graffiti as a means of expression has done in Mexico.
Wonder what’s it like to live in a painting? Residents of Pachuca probably know it.
The before and after pictures prove how the project has significantly changed the character of the city.
German Crew has been around for more than 13 years and uses alternative forms of communication like murals and artwork in order to improve public spaces and work with the community.
Not only did it help bind the community together, it also helps them take ownership for a beautiful work or art that is hard to miss.
Germen Crew got to know the residents, planned workshops, and talked with them about the colors they’d like on their house.
Interestingly, the community was directly involved in making the fantastic mural happen.
Reportedly 452 families, or 1808 people, were affected by this project, resulting in violence amongst youths being entirely eradicated.
The result was a eye-catching work of street art that utilizes bright, marbled colors to visually connect all of the buildings as they lead up a hillside.
Collaborating with the government the project involved 20,000 square meters of painted space over 209 houses on the hill in Palmitas, a town in the Pachuca district in Mexico.
