Declare holiday tomorrow: Tamil Nadu govt to industrial establishments

Govt had already declared a public holiday on July 30 as a mark of respect to late Kalam

Chennai: With the Tamil Nadu government declaring a public holiday on July 30 due to the funeral of former President A P J Abdul Kalam, the Labour department on Wednesday asked all industrial establishments to declare a holiday tomorrow.

A release from the office of Commissioner of Labour recalled that the government had already declared a public holiday on July 30 as a mark of respect to the late Kalam.

"In continuation to this, all industrial establishments shall declare a holiday on July 30, 2015 under Negotiable Instruments Act 1881," it said.

The funeral of the former President will take place in Rameswaram at 11 AM tomorrow with full military honours.
