Jairaj Steels to invest Rs 3,000 crore in Kurnool
Once established, Jairaj Steel plant will be the biggest plant in the Rayalaseema region

Hyderabad: City-based Jairaj Steels plans to set up a steel plant in Kurnool district with an investment of over Rs 3,000 crore, said a top official of APIIC. “We have allotted 400 acres of land for the steel plant initially. Depending upon the necessity, further land will be given. It is expected to boost the trade and industrial development in the district and the entire region,” said AP Industrial Infrastructural Corporation (APIIC) vice-chairman and MD K Satyanarayana on Tuesday.
Once established, Jairaj Steel plant will be the biggest plant in the Rayalaseema region. It will be part of mega industrial park coming up at Orvakallu, which has already got a big solar power generation plant, a unit of Nuclear Fuel Complex, several other industries.
Meanwhile, the government has allotted 100 acres of land for Ahmedabad-based food processing giant Gujarat Ambuja Exports Ltd. for establishment of 1,000 TPD Maize processing unit. The unit is coming up with an investment of Rs 240 crore at Thangadancha Village, Jupadu Bungalow mandal of Kurnool district.
