Hyderabad: The valve of a drinking water pipeline at the Filmnagar, Banjara Hills, opened early on Tuesday, leaking hundreds of litres of water down the drain. No one from the Water Board operations and maintenance team attended to the leakage for hours.
“Water started gushing out from the pipeline set up adjacent to the road near Nyayam Bhavan. The pressure was so high that commuters maintained a safe distance,” said eyewitness N. Karthik Reddy.
Divisional deputy GM P. Yoganath said the leakage was due to a valve locking automatically due to imbalance in air pressure. It was fixed later, he said.
