Cops file charges against Revanth Reddy in cash-for-vote scam
ACB has recorded statements of 39 witnesses and filed a 316-page chargesheet
Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday filed a preliminary charge-sheet in the cash for vote scam against four accused, including Telugu Desam MLA A. Revanth Reddy.
The ACB has recorded the statements of 39 witnesses in the case and filed a 316-page charge-sheet. The chargesheet contained the supporting documentary evidence including forensic science lab report highlighting the conversations including the name of ‘Babu’ taken by the accused during the deal. ACB sources said that they will file supplementary charge sheets in the case and investigation is still on.
The chargesheet has been filed against three other accused Bishop Harry Sebastian, Mr Revanth Reddy’s aide Uday Simha and Jerusalem Mattaiah under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Criminal conspiracy.
The ACB has mentioned about the conversation between AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu and complainant MLA Stephenson in the case as well as the conversation between Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and Bishop Harry Sebastian where the names of “Babu”and “Boss” was taken. Veeraiah is yet to be chargesheeted in the case.
