Murali Krishnan essayed the role of Sethu, the close friend of Dulquer’s Lalu in the latter’s debut flick — Second Show. Now, after a brief sabbatical, the young actor is back in action with debutant Ullas Mohan’s suspense thriller Sakhariya Pothen Jeevichiripund.

“That gap was not a pre-planned one. To be frank, I did not get good offers at that time, though the character in Second Show garnered rave responses. The offers which came to me post Second Show were not up to the mark. That was the factor which forced me to take a small break,” says Murali.

The actor, who debuted as a hero in Vinayan’s Raghuvinte Raziya, was later seen as a hero in a television serial. “It was during 2013-14, that I got the call from Shiju Aroor for the serial Bhagya Devatha. At that time, I was not getting any offers from the film industry and I was only focusing on my business. When Shiju chettan gave me the role of Krishnan Unni in his serial, doing a serial was not in my mind as cinema was my first love, I had to think twice before accepting that role. But as the subject was an interesting one I agreed to do the project and this helped to make me popular among the television audiences,” says Murali.

He got many good offers from the television industry after his debut on the mini screen. “Though I got some projects with novel themes, I had to decline because at that time I had started writing a script for Ullas, the director of Sakhariya Pothen Jeevichiripund. Ullas was the chief associate director of the Shiju Aroor serial. In fact, at first, we were planning to do a film with a boxer in the lead role. Though we had a green signal from a leading actor in the industry, we had to shelve that project owing to certain technical issues. It was then that screen writer Manoj Nair came up with the subject of Sakhariya Pothen Jeevichiripund and we decided to do this project first,” says the actor who portrays the role of Freddy in the film.

As the name implies, Sakhariya Pothen Jeevichiripund is a suspense thriller and all the characters are under the cloud of a mystery. “The story is set in an environment which will give the audience a new experience. Each and every character is given importance in the story line. I am glad to make a comeback in this film which has some of my favourite actors in the cast,” Murali says.
