China begins construction of Asia's largest suspension bridge

The bridge is scheduled to become operational in June next year

Beijing: China has begun the construction of a suspension bridge, slated to be the largest in Asia, over Longjiang River in Yunnan Province.

The 2,470-meter-long bridge will be Asia's largest suspension bridge located in a mountain area, state-run People's Daily reported.

The bridge is scheduled to become operational in June next year.
