BSF foils infiltration bid along International Border in Jammu
BSF officer said two terrorists were seen moving suspiciously during the night
Jammu: BSF on Tuesday foiled an infiltration bid by two militants along the International Border in Jammu district.
"Two terrorists were seen moving suspiciously during the night and again observed in the wee hours opposite Kanachak area in Jammu district", a BSF officer said.
They were waiting to infiltrate or snipe and kill BSF personnel in forward areas, he said, adding BSF troops opened fire to foil the bid.
In a bid to give covering fire to the infiltrating militants, Pakistani Rangers resorted to shelling and firing in Kanachak and Paragwal sector, he said, adding BSF retaliated effectively and foiled the bid.
"There was specific input with BSF about the presence of terrorists in the area opposite Kanachak sector and likely attempt to infiltrate or cause causality to BSF troops", the BSF officer said.
"The way Pakistan Rangers fired heavily, confirms the active support of Pakistan Rangers to these terrorists", he said.
