Krishna fete: Vijayawada to get power boost

VIJAYAWADA: In view of the upcoming Krishna Pushkaralu in August 2016, the electricity department is setting up two sub-stations and installing 300 transformers at various places in the city .
Keeping in view the increased power consumption during the 12-day-long festival, the electricity board officials have planned setting up of two substations with a capacity of 132 KV in Moghalrajpuram and Bhavanipuram.
CMD of southern power distribution company H.Y. Dora inspected all ghats on Saturday. Mr Dora later directed the officials concerned to submit the Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the two substations, 300 transformers and new lights to be installed in Vijayawada and Gun-tur, before August 15. APSPDCL Vijayawada zone chief engineer Raja Bapayya said DPR will be completed soon.
“We are supposed to construct two sub-stations with a capacity of 132 KV in Moghalar-ajpuram and Bhavani-puram in the city along with 300 new transformers to reduce the power droppings in Vijayawada.” “Additionally, 14,000 new lights will be installed in Vijaya-wada and Guntur,” said Mr Bapayya.
