Telangana Assembly Speaker rejects Hyderabad High Court notice
The HC permitted counsel for the petitioners to serve notice to the Speaker
Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary has refused to accept the notice issued by the Hyderabad High Court with regard to petitions pending before him seeking the disqualification of Congress and TD MLAs who have joined the TRS.
Mr Errabelli Daya-kar Rao of the TD and Mr Sampath Kumar of the Congress had moved the HC seeking a direction to the Speaker for expedition of hearing of the disqualification petitions. The HC permitted counsel for the petitioners to serve notice to the Speaker seeking his stance on the petitions.
Counsel for the petitioner on Monday informed the court by filing a memo that the Speaker had refused to accept the notice sent to by him through registered post. He attached the remarks of the postal staff who recorded on the acknowledgement receipt that the recipient had refused to accept the mail.
