AAP lawmaker booked for beating, manhandling NDMC worker

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party MLA Surinder Singh has been booked for allegedly beating and manhandling a worker of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
The incident took place last night in Tughlaq road area when a team of NDMC officials was doing routine checking and had apprehended an e-rickshaw driver to check his documents.
"Sanitary Inspector R J Meena had complaint to police alleging that beldar Mukesh was beaten and manhandled by Surinder Singh when the team had apprehended an e-rickshaw driver to check his documents," a senior police official said.
Kumar, the MLA from Delhi Cantt constituency, is also an NDMC member. An FIR has been registered in this connection on the charges of beating, manhandling and obstruction of official work.
"An FIR has been registered under various sections of the IPC and provisions of SC and ST act and an ACP level officer will inquire into the incident," the official added.
Meanwhile, Surinder Singh, was not available for his comments on the issue.
