Centre only offers more assurances on High Court split

Hyderabad: The BJP-led NDA government on Tuesday had a tough time in convincing the TRS on the division of the High Court and the YSRC on according special category status to AP during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha and was confined in giving mere assurances that it would put all efforts to see both demands were met.

When TRS members led by Mr A.P. Jitender Reddy and Mr B. Vinod Kumar raised the issue of division of the High Court and the creation of a separate court for residuary Andhra Pradesh, Union Parliamentary Affairs minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said the Centre was keen on the issue and it would be done soon.

He also said that the Union law ministry was currently examining the issue and once it got a report from the ministry, the government would take it forward.
