Karnataka Lokayukta corruption case: Ashwin's bail plea hearing put off

Lokayukta Special Court has adjourned the hearing of anticipatory bail petition

BENGALURU: The Lokayukta Special Court has adjourned the hearing of anticipatory bail petition of prime accused in the Lokayukta corruption case, Ashwin Yerabati, till Thursday.

When Ashwin’s bail petition, filed in connection with the complaint filed by Executive Engineer M N Krishnamurthy, came up for hearing on Tuesday, Judge V.G. Bopaiah adjourned it till Thursday, stating that the another bail petition related to complaint filed by P.B. Channabasappa will come up on Thursday and he would hear both the petitions on the same day.

The SIT officials will produce Ashwin before the court on Thursday, as his police custody ends. The another accused in the case and Lokayukta Joint Commissioner (PRO) Syed Riyaz’s police custody will end on Wednesday and he will be produced before the court. The court will also hear the bail petitions of all the accused, except Ashwin, in the case on Wednesday.
