Hyderabad: A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt of the HC sought to know the basis for a plea moved against the proposed demolition of the OGH.

While dealing with the petition filed by a city advocate B.M. Swami Dass, seeking to declare the action of the TS in proposing to shift patients from the OGH and demolish the building as illegal, the bench made it clear that it would not entertain petitions merely on the basis of apprehensions.

The bench said it would like to see the material which shows that the government wants the demolition. Sarasani Satyam Reddy, senior counsel appearing for the petitioner, said though there was no order from the government, it was likely to demolish the building after which no purpose would be served in approaching the court.

He said that though he did not readily possess any evidence to show that the state was demolishing the building, but the same could be ascertained from the fact that the hospital is vacating key wards. The bench granted a week to place concrete information.
