4 arrested for kidnap of infant
Police rescued nine-month-old Kavya who they had stolen from Gandhi Hospital

Hyderabad: The North Zone police arrested four persons and rescued nine-month-old Kavya who they had stolen from Gandhi Hospital on July 31. The accused were identified as O. Divya Joythi, 30, a housewife from Veldurthy of Kurnool, and her acquaintances Ravi, Kalyan and Sanjeevaiah. Divya Jyothi had planned the kidnap as she did not have children. “She planned to steal a baby from the hospital and carried it out with the help of three others,” said Chilkalguda inspector K. Srinivasulu.
Kavya and her mother B. Renuka from Medak district had come to the hospital on July 31 for treatment.
