Mumbai: Tracking a weak global trend, gold dipped 0.21 per cent to Rs 24,950 per ten grams in futures trade on Friday. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in December fell by Rs 53, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 24,950 per ten grams in a business turnover of 2 lots. Likewise, the yellow metal for October contracts eased by Rs 39, or 0.16 per cent to Rs 24,749 per ten grams in 482 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in gold futures to a weakening trend in the global market. Meanwhile, gold lowered at USD 1,088.91 an ounce from USD 1,089.55 yesterday in Singapore.
