HyderabadThe Patna Pirates will not remember fondly the Thursday night they played the Telugu Titans in the second round of the StarSports Pro Kabaddi League at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli in Hyderabad.
 
The hosts picked up from where they left off on Wednesday. The Titans punched through the Pirates’ defence and deprived the visitors’ raiders to inflict a humiliating 54-32 on Patna. 
The Telugu Titans are now just one win away from sealing a semifinal spot.
 
The home side, who had two all-outs against the Jaipur Pink Panthers on Wednesday, imposed four all-outs — the first three being executed within the opening eight minutes of play — in the match.
 
Titan’s skipper Miraj Sheykh and Rahul Chaudhari were the top performers for the team, collecting 11 points each. Deepak Nivas Hudda added eight points to the team’s tally. The highlight of Hudda’s game was a superb tackle that he executed.
 
After the win the fans were in for a visual treat as Miraj celebrated coming back to form with four somersaults even as chants of “Rahul! Rahul!” reverebated inside the stadium.
 
“It’s great to perform for the team. I am pleased with my performance. For here our journey towards the next stage begins. We need to concentrate on the upcoming matches and think about the bigger prize, the final,” an elated Miraj said. 
For the Pirates, Ravi Dalal was the top-show with 10 points.
