Many young K’town actors have a penchant for using the titles of Rajinikanth’s yesteryear blockbusters. The trend started with Dhanush, and continued with many others including Vishal’s recent film Paayum Puli. Now, national award-winning actor Bobby Simha seems to be following suit with this trend.
The actor has signed his next film with producer Elred Kumar for a movie which has been titled Veera. Veera is the title of a 1994 superstar flick, which had Meena and Roja as the leading ladies and was directed by Suresh Krissna.
Bobby’s film has one heroine, Iswarya Menon, who is just one film old in the Tamil industry. Directed by debutant Rajaraman, the film will also feature Balasaravanan to fill the comedy slot. Announcing this, Elred Kumar said, “We have titled the film Veera. It was not intentionally planned, but was a glorious co-incidence. The script is chock-a-block with action and humour. Bobby Simha, now emerging as a star, will be suitable for the role. In my opinion this film will add another feather to his cap.”
