New Delhi: The Broadcast Editors Association (BEA) on Saturday expressed concern over repeated notices issued to the media, by both the centre and state governments, on coverage of various events.
The BEA views come a day after the Union I&B ministry issued show cause notice to three news channels on their coverage of Yakub Memon hanging and its related events.
The apex body of editors expressed dismay on the latest notice which claimed that it amounted to contempt of the institution of president and the judiciary.
“The BEA has decided to take up the issue with the government,” a statement by the association said.
