Hyderabad: A special round of counselling to fill vacant seats in National Institute of Technology (NIT), Indian Institutes of Information Technology and other Central institutes will be held from August 9 to August 11.

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) said that final seat allotments will be released on August 12.

More than 3,000 seats are vacant in the institutes, including 60 in NIT Warangal and 80 in NIT Andhra Pradesh.

There is no decision on filling of vacant seats in IITs. Students will have to pay a commitment fee of Rs 45,000 before filling their choices.

The filling-in of choices will be allowed only after payment of the commitment fee, which can be paid through e-challan at any branch of the State Bank of India.

“It may take around six hours to enable your registration and choice filling from the time of payment of initial fee at the SBI,” CSAB said.
