Congress trying to project Naga peace pact negatively: Kiren Rijiju
They are doing this to provoke another unwanted situation, said Rijiju
Bhalukpong (AP): Union Minister State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Monday said the peace agreement with NSCN(IM) is a positive step but slammed the Congress for misinterpreting it.
"Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi are misinterpreting the issue through chief ministers of three Congress-ruled states Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh," Rijiju told reporters here.
They are doing this "to convert the noble issue into a negative note, thereby provoking another unwanted situation," he said.
The peace agreement with the NSCN(IM) by the Centre is a positive step towards turning the unstable North East region into a peaceful place, he said in response to reporters' queries on the sidelines of a function here for railway service in Arunachal Pradesh.
