Winona Ryder has confirmed Beetlejuice 2 is really happening. The actress, 43, told Late Night host Seth Meyers on Monday that a sequel to the cult 1988 film is finally in the works. “I think I can confirm it,” Winona said. “Because Tim Burton did this interview like, it was very hush-hush, top secret.

“And then he was doing some press for Big Eyes and he did an on-camera interview and he said, ‘Oh yeah, we’re doing it and Winona’s going to be in it,” the actress said, pulling a shocked face.
“But I really don’t know much more than anybody else,” she confessed.

Winona played goth teen Lydia Deetz in the beloved film. Beetlejuice director Tim Burton and star Michael Keaton have both talked about a sequel being in the works in the past.

In December, the director said he had a completed Beetlejuice 2 script ready, and called the sequel “closer than ever”.
