HYDERABAD: No decision has been taken by AP cops on the most-wanted red sanders smuggler Sahul Hameed’s offer to surrender, said AP DGP J.V. Ramudu.

A senior AP police official said, “He is wanted in several cases of smuggling and is estimated that he had purchased Rs 1,000-crore worth properties in Dubai. Accepting his surrender offer is a tricky issue. It all depends on how we would get back  the crime proceeds back to the country.”

In August first week 27-year-old Azharuddin was arrested in Mumbai and was brought to Srikalahasti in  Chittoor district. Police claimed that Azharuddin was here to carry on key business transactions.

“Sahul is the key man behind the smuggling racket in AP as per the confession of Balraj the arrested red sanders smuggler. The operative has links in Singapore, Malaysia, Bangkok and Hong Kong. The UAE is the transit destination of red sanders wood and it is suspected one Sahul has local connections,”revealed AP police.
