Bengaluru: City schools offering Cambridge IGCSE courses registered high pass percentages in the results for grade 10, which was declared on Tuesday. At Greenwood High 53 students had appeared for the exam and 75 per cent scored distinction. Three students got A*s in all nine subjects and many achieved a combinations of As and A*s. “It is a record performance,” said  Ms Niru Agarwal, trustee, Greenwood High.

At Canadian International School  ours thirty nine students had appeared and 30 per cent secured distinction. “We have 7 students who scored more than 85 per cent on an average. Our top achievers got more than 90 per cent average marks with A* in seven or more subjects.  In addition, eighteen of our  grade 9 students finished the entire International Mathematics course in just one year and appeared for IGCSE International Mathematics examination and performed  well. Five of them managed to get A*,” said Ms Aditi Bhattacharya, IGCSE coordinator, Canadian International School.

Nooraine Fazal, Managing Trustee & CEO, Inventure Academy said that highlights from her school AS (grade 11) CIE exams is 40 per cent of students scored more than 80% marks as the overall aggregate. Namrata Ramesh and Sridhar Prabhu have both secured A* Grade in one subject (Math) and A Grade in 3 subjects at AS Level.

“A Grade is the highest grade awarded at the AS level. A* the highest with the A level. They did the grade 12 math exam in grade 11, i.e. after one year of study, rather than two. They will be doing a Further Math (Advanced level) at the end of grade 12. Anishwar Sen, Arincheyan Gerald, Neeti Ganjur, Nihaal George, Prerana Pahuja, Prabhat Bhootra and Pranav Gupta have secured straights As," she said.
