Telangana to fill nominated posts after August 15
CM asked MLAs and MLCs to adopt one village in every mandal for focused attention
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday promised to fill up nominated posts after Independence Day. “We will fill up posts in 12 corporations, market committees, temple committees and other pending nominated posts. Everyone who strove for Telangana and stood by party will get an opportunity,” he said.
Mr Rao had filled up some nominated posts including in the Public Service Commission but had kept a large number of posts vacant. Mr Rao was addressing the TRS Legislature Party and TRS leaders on the salient features of the week-long Grama Jyothi programme, the government’s village initiative, to be launched on August 17.
He said Grama Jyothi would revitalise villages and improve basic amenities. The government would mobilise up to Rs 30,000 crore in next four years for the programme. He asked MLAs and MLCs to adopt one village in every mandal so that there would be focussed attention for development of the village.
He asked the legislators to enlighten villagers on the programme which empowers villages to draw its own plans for next four years and take up works as per priority. He asked party leaders to ensure participation of all sections of people in the programme.
The Chief Minister asked party leaders to send proposals for the constitution of market committees keeping in view reservations for all communities. He asked them to complete setting up village and mandal committees at the earliest.
