Hyderabad: The National Green Tribunal has ordered the state government to file a detail project report on its plans for Hussainsagar by August 25. The government will be fined Rs 1 lakh  if it fails to comply.

The two-member committee constituted by the NGT to check the alleged dewatering of the Hussainsagar will visit the lake for two days from August 21.

Their report is expected by the month-end. The committee had to cancel its second inspection on August 5 as the TS government counsel expressed inability to appear as officials were not available till August 10.

However, no one represented TS at the next hearing on August 12. Counsel has been asked to give in writing the reason for his absence.
