Colleges seek FDs and bank guarantee to admit students
Fee structure for med colleges has changed with 35% seats categorised as Category B

Hyderabad: Bank guarantees and fixed deposits sought by private medical and dental colleges to admit students under Category B seats has left parents in a fix with a separate entrance test introduced this year in both Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh to fill Category B seats.
Prior to admissions, as per rules of private medical and dental colleges, students are required to submit a bank guarantee for the entire course.
Fee structure for medical colleges has been changed this year with 35 per cent seats categorised as Category B, to be filled through private medical tests, for which counselling is on. In AP, the fee for Category B seats is Rs 11 lakh per annum while it is Rs 9 lakh in TS.
